Founded by TANK in 2003, tank.tv is the only online museum of contemporary artists’ moving image. Dedicated to exhibiting both emerging and established international artists, we curate a rolling programme of showcase exhibitions in our main gallery, invite guest curators to create an exhibition from our permanent collection of over a thousand film and video works, supplemented by a project space dedicated to experimental approaches to curating artists’ moving image. Throughout the year, our online presence is supported by a series of live events which have previously been held at some of the world’s most respected institutions, including Tate Modern, the ICA, ZKM Karlsruhe and Kulturhuset Stockholm.
The range of artists, curators and partners we have worked with include Ken Jacobs / Pipilotti Rist / Vito Acconci / Hans Ulrich Obrist / Kutlug Ataman / LUX / Guy Maddin / John Smith / Ryan Gander / John Latham / Stuart Comer / Mark Webber / Rosalind Nashashibi / Sophie Fiennes / Ian White / Philippe Parreno and Jeremy Deller.
We undertake period-specific research and evaluation to directly effect our long-term programming in order to make sure we stay at the front of the development and evolution of artists’ moving image.
